With the storm damage from June 8, 2022 there have been several tree companies travelling the roads soliciting.  Please note that German Township DOES NOT endorse and HAS NOT CONTRACTED WITH anyone to remove storm damage.  Clark County Engineers have been pitching in and providing valuable assistance in this time, thank you.

The Township will accept tree storm debris at the usual location from German Township residents only.   No dumping between 9PM and 8AM.   NO DUMPING FROM COMMERCIAL TREE COMPANIES.    If a resident hires a commercial company, they are to take the debris with them.  The Township does not accept debris left by commercial companies.

If you can’t bring it to the Township location, please be patient as there has been substantial damage and we are limited in labor and equipment.    The Township will post more information as it becomes available.

CHANGE TO GERMAN TOWNSHIP ENERGY AGGREGATION PROGRAM

Volunteer Energy has been our supplier for natural gas under the German Township Energy Aggregation Program, however, due to financial difficulties, Volunteer Energy Services Inc. filed bankruptcy and all agreements have been cancelled.  All existing customers are being returned to our local utility, Columbia Gas and there will be no interruption in service. Columbia Gas is mailing customers affected to advise them of this change. Our energy broker Trebel will seek competitive rates from alternate suppliers when the market is favorable.  If you have additional questions, please contact Trebel LLC at 1-877-861-2772 M-F 9-5pm.

History of German Township

German Township is one of the ten townships of Clark County, Ohio, United States. The 2000 census found 7,336 people in the township, 7,012 of whom lived in the unincorporated portions of the township. The township covers approximately 34 square miles. It is one of five German Townships in the state of Ohio.

The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. Two are elected in the year after the presidential election and one is elected in the year before it. There is also an elected township fiscal officer,[5] who serves a four-year term beginning on April 1 of the year after the election, which is held in November of the year before the presidential election. Vacancies in the fiscal officership or on the board of trustees are filled by the remaining trustees.
