The Ohio Revised Code establishes the duties and responsibilities of the Fiscal Officer. The Fiscal Officer is elected to a four-year term that commences on the first day of April following the election.
The Fiscal Officer has all the fiscal responsibilities of the Township including paying bills, payrolls, and receiving revenue as it is distributed to the Township. In addition to the fiscal duties, they also maintain an accurate record of the proceedings of all the Board of Trustees meetings. They are the liaison between the County Fiscal Officer and the State of Ohio Auditor’s office.
The Fiscal Officer also notifies the Board of Elections of all vacancies of elected officials in the Township. They also must notify the Board of Elections of all changes in the township’s boundaries.

At the re-organizational meeting, the German Township Trustees have elected the following officers: Charles Metzger, President and Rodney Kaffenbarger, Vice President. The 2020 Meeting Schedule: The second Tuesday of each month at 8:00 a.m. except that March, July and November will be evening meetings at 7:00 p.m. Meetings will be held at the German Township Office, 3940 Lawrenceville Drive, Springfield, Ohio 45504.
