Purpose of Zoning
The purpose of Zoning is to guide and regulate the planning, subdividing, and development of land within the township in order to promote and protect the health, safety, morals, and general welfare of the present and future property owners.
Zoning is among the powers given to the township by the state legislature. The Zoning Resolution, together with the Comprehensive Plan, establishes a framework for land use activity within the township. There are several components to zoning and planning within German Township.
